[Naruto] Kill Kimimaro

While infiltrating Orochimaru's base, Kizuki Tobi opens a Kirigakure ANBU S-rank mission scroll.

Target: The first step in opposing Orochimaru is to kill Kimimaro.

Mission: Infiltrate, approach, assassinate.

Deadline: Three months.

Three months later, the mission fails.

Reason: The target falls into a coma, and Tobi begins researching a treatment.

Kirigakure: ??? Where are you?

Tobi: Don't ask. I'm looking after my assassination target at Orochimaru's place.

Three years later, Kirigakure still hasn't heard from this "missing-nin."

Tobi: Get back to me once you explain how Mangetsu died.

Sasuke Uchiha: I hear you want me to help you kill someone?

Tobi: Right. At this angle, this depth. The margin of error can't exceed three millimeters.

Sasuke: ...Are you sure this is killing someone and not performing surgery?

Tobi: It's basically the same thing.

Sasuke: What are the odds of survival?

Tobi: "97.3%."

Sasuke: That's so high. Why kill him, then?

Tobi: ...You don't need to worry about that.

Kimimaro raises a bone blade and nearly slices her throat.

Tobi (guiltily, in her head): Hahaha, as if. I'm here to kill you, after all.

About the threat:

Kimimaro: If she betrays us, I'll kill her and Suigetsu immediately.

Suigetsu, at the Northern Research Institute: ??? What did I do?

About the mission to kill him:

"Within the margin of error."

Kimimaro looks toward the familiar figure in the ruins.

[Reader's Guide]

1. An original female lead in the single-world Hokage setting, BG romance with Kimimaro, happy ending, happy ending! Kimimaro won't die of illness!

2. Suigetsu and Sasuke have some one-sided feelings for her. Please steer clear if that's not your thing. The canon pairings aren't broken up; Sasuke's feelings are purely admiration required by the plot.
