A Side Character, but His Wife Is a Dragon-Born Protagonist

The protagonist transmigrated into a book.

But he doesn't know what book, because the transmigration System has crashed.

Since he's been given a second life, the protagonist doesn't want to get caught up in the messes of overpowered male or female leads. He just wants to be an extra who never appears.

Years later, he finds an ordinary man, battered and bruised.

The protagonist thinks he's an unlucky nobody like himself. Wanting to help, he rescues him, takes good care of him while he recovers, and helps him find a job.

They get along wonderfully, and even end up married after an accident.

But after they get married, the System wakes up.

The System says that if he doesn't complete his missions, he and his wife will die sooner or later.

The protagonist is dumbfounded.

What do you mean, seduce the overpowered male lead? He has a spouse, for crying out loud!

And what do you mean, kill the star-beast horde? He's an ordinary person, for crying out loud!

With no other choice, the protagonist starts making excuses to come home late or not at all, when in reality the System has dragged him off to fight monsters. He comes home battered and bruised every day.

Fortunately, his wife is understanding and gracious. The protagonist weeps with gratitude, takes his wife's hand, and swears to the heavens that he's a faithful man. Er, no, a faithful male insect! He'll never betray his wife, and so on.

His wife pats him on the head and naturally agrees to everything.

After he leaves for work again, his wife drops his disguise, revealing a beautiful face, and smiles as he picks out a photon cannon.
