[COD] Raindrops Bite the Cry

#

It all begins with a death.

In 2024, the official U.S.-developed Beach communication System, "Hermes," finally made a breakthrough. If the trial succeeds, it will be a huge leap forward. Ten years ago, the U.S. government lost its most important talent, causing research and development into the No Man's Land and chiralium to stagnate for a time. The Alliance seized the opportunity to keep close behind. Even the once-invincible intelligence agencies were defeated by this helplessness in the face of "new nature." Fortunately, the other side was unable to use this against us, either.

Now, time is a resource. Time is the key.

Whoever can master and use the new energy faster will be able to break open the stalemate. And we all know what happens next: the victors write history.

#Reader's Notes

- 1. I'm writing this just because I wanted to read it. Please note that this is not a yes/no-style BG story. The pairing is Keegan, one-on-one, with Call of Duty: Ghosts as the main focus. The tone leans toward serious drama.

- 2. The story includes some exposition woven into the narrative. Explanations of the setting and related lore are mainly included for the sake of friends who have never encountered this setting before (emphasis added).

- 3. This is my own timeline, created solely to serve the story. For now, it only crosses over with Death Stranding (though some of the main characters may not appear).

Theme: This is what happens to those who never got to live life to the fullest.
