The Sixth Year After I Abandoned My Husband and Child

[The shou fakes his death, the gong raises their child]

Helping the cold-palace prince Ning Yan ascend the throne was Xie Shiqing's mission after he transmigrated.

He devoted himself to the task for six whole years, nearly ruining his health, before finally putting Ning Yan on the throne.

With the mission complete, Xie Shiqing earned the chance to return to the modern world.

After a brief hesitation, he decided to leave with dignity under the pretense of retiring from public life.

But Ning Yan, who had always obeyed his every word, turned against him at that moment. He not only forbade him from retiring, but locked him away in the palace after an argument.

Only then did Xie Shiqing realize that there were no harmless, well-behaved children in the imperial family.

There were only wolf cubs skilled at disguising themselves.

But it was fine. If he couldn't retire, he'd fake his death!

He never expected that while waiting for the chance to fake his death, he'd make a grave mistake and end up in bed with Ning Yan.

And that wasn't all. A month later, he discovered that he was...

Pregnant!!!

After figuring out that he'd accidentally used a pregnancy pill from the System's shop, Xie Shiqing decided to abort this ill-timed child.

But at the final moment, seeing Ning Yan plead with him with red-rimmed eyes, Xie Shiqing couldn't help but... give in.

After giving birth to the child, Xie Shiqing successfully faked his death.

But the unreliable System failed him at the most critical moment. Instead of returning to the modern world, he...

Arrived six years in the future.

And six years later, Ning Yan had not only failed to become the wise ruler Xie Shiqing had hoped for, but had even earned a reputation as a tyrant.

Everyone in the court and across the land feared him.

Faced with this...

Xie Shiqing's vision went black. Is it too late for him to run now?!
