Broken Blossoms in the Bamboo Garden

The autumn gloom lingers, and frost falls late. A withered lotus remains, listening to the rain.

Wind stirs the bamboo beyond the window; open the door, and snow falls over the mountains.

If we should someday be caught in the same snow, then in this life, we will have grown old together.

Today we hold hands beneath the falling snow; in this life, we are destined to grow old together.
