[Bottom's Perspective]
Song Shu is a squirrel spirit with weak magical powers, and his transformation into human form is unstable.
Still, on Spirit Mountain, Song Shu is the best squirrel at finding food.
With winter approaching, Song Shu has filled a tree hollow with enough food to last the season, ready to enjoy a cozy winter.
But one day, when he was huffing and puffing as he carried a huge pinecone back to his hollow, he discovered that every last bit of the winter food he'd spent so much effort finding was gone!
Every! Last! Bit! Was! Gone!
Song Shu was struck as if by lightning and fainted with rage.
When he woke again and looked at the empty hollow, his heart felt like a hole was letting in a cold, whistling wind.
After a sleepless night, unable to let it go, Song Shu stamped his feet, took the one pinecone he had left, and decided he wasn't spending this winter at home!
He was going to find the thief who stole his winter food and get revenge!
Just before the first winter snow, Song Shu came down the mountain. As he passed a thatched hut, he caught a familiar scent.
It was his own scent!
The food thief!
Song Shu's eyes lit up. He charged through the hut's window and found a dignified gentleman dressed in white, seated by the window reading. Man and squirrel stared at each other in an awkward silence.
Song Shu looked at the peanut shells on the table, then at the handsome young man with his cool, moonlit air.
"Food thief, I'm sending you straight to the King of Hell!"
Song Shu shouted and pounced.
A moment later, a hand with long, well-defined fingers held him up by his fluffy tail, swinging him through the air. Qin Mian said, bewildered, "What squirrel is out wandering around in winter? Isn't it afraid of freezing to death?"
Song Shu: ...
Song Shu: "¥&¥#&"
[Top's Perspective]
On a snowy night, Qin Mian found a squirrel right on his doorstep. Its fur was sleek, and it was lively and adorable.
Most animals had a hard time getting through winter, and Qin Mian worried the squirrel might not survive the season. So, in a fit of kindness, he took it in, planning to release it once winter was over.
But as they spent time together, Qin Mian felt the squirrel was far too affectionate. It was always pouncing into his arms, tickling his neck with its paws, and insisting on staying by his side even when he ate and slept. It was also constantly chattering away in a language he couldn't understand.
Qin Mian decided the squirrel must really like him.
So he kept it as a pet and brought it back to his sect when winter ended.
The man and squirrel grew very close, until the day Song Shu transformed into a human, grabbed Qin Mian by the neck, and shook him furiously. "Food thief! Spit out everything you ate!"
In a daze, Qin Mian suddenly realized that every time Song Shu pounced on him, he had actually been trying to knock him dead...
Later, after the misunderstanding between them was cleared up, Qin Mian resolved to teach the small-minded little squirrel spirit how to cultivate properly.
But one day, the little squirrel transformed into an adorable young man with a huge fluffy tail. He took Qin Mian's hand and said earnestly, "I think I've gone into heat. Qin Mian, please help me."
Qin Mian: ?
A question for anyone who knows: What does it mean when the squirrel you raised asks you to help him through his heat?

Check out my upcoming works: The Little Husband's Search for a Husband and The Lying Flat Sidekick of the Workaholic Dragon Proudsky
Bai Li transmigrates into a power fantasy political intrigue novel, becoming the sidekick of the dragon-proud male lead, Mu Fengze.
Unfortunately, Bai Li hasn't arrived during one of Mu Fengze's most stirring moments, when he's commanding countless troops in a battle against a rival kingdom, nor during the thrilling moment when Mu Fengze dons the imperial robes and ascends the throne...
Spitting out the foxtail grass he'd been chewing, Bai Li looks at the male lead, who's dressed in the same patched-up rags as him, and sighs. "Proudsky, when are you going to amount to something? I just want to lie flat."
Setting down the branch in his hand, "Dragon Proudsky" turns to him in confusion. "A Li, you got my name wrong again. My name is clearly Erniu."
Bai Li: ...
Right. Dragon Proudsky isn't Dragon Proudsky yet. He's only a five-year-old village kid. And Mu Fengze isn't called Mu Fengze at this point, either. He's Wang Erniu.
Sprawled out on the ground, Bai Li closes his eyes in despair.
He needs a guide to wealth and glory. He doesn't want to spend his days without a computer or phone, doing farm work from dawn to dusk.
But the protagonist is the protagonist. His golden aura quietly descends without anyone noticing. At thirteen, Mu Fengze is found by members of the imperial family and revealed to be royal blood who'd been living among commoners. Bai Li, as his lucky charm, gets brought along to the palace.
But being a prince is no easy matter. Wang Erniu has to go through a lot before he can become Mu Fengze.
For example: getting up before dawn to study, practicing martial arts in horse stance every day, learning calligraphy, studying military texts, and mastering the Four Books, Five Classics, and Six Arts...
Bai Li grins, crosses his legs, and lounges leisurely in the palace. Being a workaholic is Dragon Proudsky's job. A little sidekick like him, of course, chooses to lie flat!
Bai Li watches Mu Fengze work himself ragged from prince to crown prince, then from crown prince to emperor. He nods in satisfaction and is just about to ask his "big boss" to arrange a mansion for him in the capital's inner ring, when the imposing Mu Fengze bends down, takes his hand, and asks tenderly:
"A Li, will you be my empress?"
Bai Li: !
Wasn't he supposed to be the sidekick? How did he become the empress?
[Bonus Scene]
Bai Li: "I don't really want to be empress."
Mu Fengze smiles without changing expression. "All right. Then do you want to go back to the village and farm?"
Bai Li: ?
Bai Li indignantly scolds him: Is that how you treat someone you love?
Mu Fengze: I was kidding. You can't go back to the village anyway.

The weasel is in trouble again haha
Why is this squirrel so cute [laughing]
Hahaha, this weasel...
[Cat Claw][Cat Claw] Shu Shu is so cute
Delicious! I eat hard!
Now this name seems to have lost the subjectivity of the little squirrel, so I don't like it very much.
This time I counted carefully and found out that apart from the master, there is no second rat in the Qingqing Rat Sect...
Cute mouse, cute mouse, cute mouse, I am [three-flowered cat head][three-flowered cat head][three-flowered cat head]
Why did you change your name? The new name doesn't sound so nice [covering face and laughing]
