Pseudo-Siblings | Ensemble Cast | Cool, Melancholy, Flirtatious Model X Refined Scoundrel B-King
-
Lately, the after-school conversations at Deno High have always revolved around two people:
After disappearing for eight days, Wu Qi returned to school. Her strikingly distinctive face had once again landed on a magazine cover, and the title of "breakout newcomer" had drawn considerable attention in the modeling world.
The newly transferred Tan Yi had a mysterious background. In less than a week at Deno, he had made an exception and become student council president. With his flawless looks, he had easily become the center of every girl's attention.
It was a damp morning in late spring, with a fine slanting rain.
As usual, Wu Qi was late and got stopped at the stairwell. Her long hair hung over her shoulders, concealing the name tag on her uniform.
The boy glanced coolly at her knees and spoke as he made a note: "You're seventeen minutes late. Your skirt doesn't meet regulations. That's three points off for attendance and three for appearance. If your hair isn't dyed black before class tomorrow, you'll get a major demerit."
Wu Qi looked him in the eye, unconcerned. "Do you know how to write my name?"

After the Start of Summer, temperatures soared, and the student council's newly drafted list of students requiring special discipline was leaked. Wu Qi was on it.
Rumors also spread like wildfire that Tan Yi was going to whip her underachieving class into shape.
Anyone with eyes could tell that there was something off about the chemistry between them.
Lately, it seemed their conflict was escalating and ready to explode at any moment.
Wu Qi's friends all knew what was going on:
Her mother had returned from abroad and remarried. As luck would have it, her new husband was Tan Yi's father.
And Wu Qi had been forced to move into their new home, where she and Tan Yi now lived under the same roof.
As luck would have it, final exams were coming up, and Wu Qi's grades hit a new low.
At the dinner table, Tan's father casually told Tan Yi to "look after your little sister," and responsibility for tutoring her naturally fell to him.
The night was quiet, broken only by the sound of pages turning.
Tan Yi glanced at the fruit that had just been brought to the table and the bedroom door someone had thoughtfully closed, then chuckled. "Your mom seems to trust me a lot."
Wu Qi sat cross-legged on her chair, propping her chin on one hand. In retaliation, she randomly filled in A, B, C, and D on her math test, her tone dripping with sarcasm.
"What else? What would you even do?"
Tan Yi leaned lazily against the back of his chair, turned a page, and tossed the question back to her.
"How do you know I don't want to?"

*Ensemble cast; everyone has flaws.
