I'm a film and television directing student.
On the edge of the city stood a hospital that had long since been abandoned. It was like a huge, forgotten ghost, silently looming over a desolate stretch of land. Weeds had overrun the area, and vines covered the walls, as if nature were trying to swallow up once again a place that had been filled with pain and despair.
I was an adventure-seeker in search of a thrill. After hearing all the stories about the hospital, I decided to step inside on a night when the moonlight was dim. As I pushed open the dilapidated front door, a stale, rotten odor rushed toward me. It was a distinctive stench, a blend of disinfectant, medicine, and death, and it turned my stomach.
The hospital lobby was dark, with only a few shafts of moonlight filtering through broken windows to fall on the dusty floor in eerie patches. The reception desk stood crookedly, and medical records lay scattered everywhere, as if recounting the bustle and panic of days gone by. I walked carefully, every step making the floorboards creak. In the stillness, the sound rang out like thunder.
I made my way slowly down the corridor. Most of the ward doors on either side were half-open, and I couldn't help peering inside. The beds were in a terrible state, their sheets a dingy gray, some torn to shreds. In one room, I saw a battered IV stand with a yellowed fluid bag still hanging from it. The liquid inside swayed, like an evil eye watching me.
Suddenly, I heard a faint groan. It seemed to come from the end of the corridor. My heart began pounding, and my palms grew sweaty, but curiosity still drove me toward the sound. When I got closer, I saw that the door to an operating room was ajar. The groan was coming from inside.
Trembling, I pushed open the operating room door. A powerful stench of blood hung in the air. A human-shaped object lay on the operating table, covered by a tattered sheet. I stepped closer and saw a pale hand sticking out from under it, its fingers twisted as though struggling in agony. Then I heard heavy breathing behind me. I turned around in terror, but there was nothing there.
Just as I breathed a sigh of relief, I felt a cold hand settle on my shoulder. I wanted to scream, but it was as if something had blocked my throat. Slowly, I turned around and saw a figure wearing a tattered nurse's uniform. Long hair hid her face, leaving only a pair of eyes glimmering eerily in the dark.
"You shouldn't have come here..." Her voice was hoarse and icy, like a sentence delivered from hell.
I desperately tried to wrench free of her grasp and ran for the door. But as I fled, I found myself going in circles, as if trapped in an endless maze. In my panic, I dashed into the entrance to a basement. It was dark and damp, and reeked of pungent medicinal chemicals.
In the basement, I saw row upon row of glass jars filled with mysterious liquids. Inside were specimens of all kinds of deformed creatures, some resembling human organs, others grotesque embryos. I felt dizzy and could barely keep from throwing up.
Just then, I heard footsteps coming from the stairwell, growing closer and closer. I searched frantically for somewhere to hide and finally ducked behind a huge jar. Through its glass, I saw a group of figures in doctors' white coats enter. Their faces were indistinct, but each of them held a gleaming scalpel.
They searched the basement for something, muttering strange words as they went. I held my breath, terrified they would find me. Suddenly, a rat darted past my feet, and I couldn't stop a startled cry from escaping. The "doctors" immediately headed toward me. I closed my eyes in despair, waiting for some unknown horror to descend...
