A goofy-looking, secretly gloomy and deranged ghost gong x a cool-looking, secretly tsundere and prickly shou. (Plot-focused!!! Chinese-style horror anthology.) Written with a coauthor. Forty thousand words in the bank; updates whenever.

Among the realms of humans, immortals, and ghosts, there are strange people known as the Unusual.
The Unusual are exceptionally bizarre and born with supernatural abilities. They are the children of humans and ghosts, half human and half ghost. For a time, the cultivation clans of the human realm hunted them down.
Xiao Yuan was one of the Unusual. He had been bloodthirsty since childhood, but was betrayed by his senior brother, Shen Xiuzhu, and left broken to pieces...
Unexpectedly, Xiao Yuan not only survived, but fell into the ghost path.
Holding the lives of the entire cultivation world hostage, he abducted the aloof and transcendent Shen Xiuzhu to the peak of the netherworld, where he humiliated him night after night...
Everyone spat on Shen Xiuzhu, a grandmaster, for submitting to a ghost. But in the end, he took his own life before Xiao Yuan's eyes at the peak of the netherworld...
What nobody expected, though, was this:
Xiao Yuan killed himself too...
When he opened his eyes, the human realm was overrun with vengeful ghosts, and everything was in chaos.
In this lawless world, Xiao Yuan saw his old nemesis, Shen Xiuzhu, once again.
But this time, the man didn't seem to remember him, and he was holding Wangui, an ancient ghost-hunting artifact...
He nearly stabbed Xiao Yuan to death with it...
A ghostly shadow told Xiao Yuan it could help him, as long as he took it away with him.
But Xiao Yuan only rolled his eyes. His crimson eyes looked more ghostly than any ghost's.
"Oh... want to know how I died ten years ago? I killed myself. I stopped wanting to live ages ago. Why would I care about some wandering spirit? Leave me alone..."
Ghost: ...
But the ghostly shadow seemed to have expected that. It grinned obnoxiously.
"You can refuse me later. You saw your nemesis, right? He's reborn too. And that's not all. He's lost his memory."
Xiao Yuan: ???
At that, Xiao Yuan, who hadn't been scared by all the bizarre things in the old house, rolled his eyes and nearly fainted...
Xiao Yuan couldn't sit still anymore! In his last life, his love rival had made him suffer terribly. He'd not only made him grovel, but had cheated on him too. A blood feud, right? He forgot who I am, right? How dare he!
He agreed to take the ghostly shadow with him and rejoined the Soul Refining Bureau, going deep into ghost realms again and again to rescue people! The seductive ghost of Fufeng Town, the ghost in the painting from Taoyuan Village, the mirror ghost of the Orphanage, the mountain ghost of Mountain God Village...
Along the way, the Unusual, ghost servants, and the eight great ghost-hunting clans all showed off their skills.
Xiao Yuan swore! Now that he was reborn, he would reclaim everything that belonged to him! He would keep tormenting Shen Xiuzhu! He'd make him suffer the way he had! He would...
Just then, Shen Xiuzhu, who had gone down the mountain with Xiao Yuan to hunt ghosts, ruthlessly slew a ghost servant with Wangui. His face was cool, his eyes dark, and he gazed at Xiao Yuan, who was flailing around dramatically.
"Xiao Yuan, I'm tired. Do a couple of dog barks for me."
Xiao Yuan had been talking to the ghostly shadow a moment ago. At once, he turned around.
"Sure thing, Young Master Shen! Woof, woof!"
Ghostly shadow...
Damn it! Where's your backbone?! You have two completely different faces!
Its vision went dark, and the ghost was so angry it collapsed on the spot...!
