Yu Wan is the daughter of a family of demon hunters, but she carries half-demon blood. People feared and despised her from childhood, so she became skilled at pretending and changing faces. In front of others, she acts gentle and easygoing, but in truth she is cold-hearted and utterly lacking in compassion.

A prophetic dream shows her killing Yan Sui, a younger boy she took in and never felt especially close to, all for the sake of a demon hunter named Lan Ke.

She cripples his cultivation, takes his core, and throws him into a forbidden forest, where she skewers him like a “steak”… The brutality is unbearable to witness.

Yet the demon hunter then accuses her of being an evil spirit and kills her in return. When Yu Wan wakes, she pities her dream-self for giving her heart to the wrong person and decides to kill Lan Ke before he can become a threat.

But before she can act, Lan Ke discovers her half-demon blood. She isn’t strong enough to kill him, and is “forced” to travel around with the accursed demon hunter, rescuing people and doing good deeds.

Yu Wan is a little frustrated, but at least her sweet, sensible younger brother Yan Sui is still by her side, happily letting her tease him for fun. He’s like a clingy little sunbeam of a puppy.

Later, their purely sibling affection turns into romance. Yu Wan isn’t fazed at all and decides to elope with him that very night.

Yu Wan: I feel sorry for you, giving your heart to the wrong person.

After she’d had a taste of Yan Sui, this was how Yu Wan felt about the dream version of herself being killed in return:

Yu Wan: I feel sorry for you, but I also want to curse you. You’re blind and stupid, and you didn’t appreciate Yan Sui.

Yu Wan: Seems gentle, agreeable, and easygoing, never fighting for anything, but is actually cold-hearted, ruthless, obsessive, and fiercely dominant.

Yan Sui: Seems like a sunny, sensible young man, but is actually possessive, domineering, clingy, devoted to one person, and a wolfish puppy.

Reader’s guide:

1. Set in a standard world. The female and male leads are the GB couple, with a genuinely female-dominant dynamic! The female lead is a normal person, not intersex. The dynamic is female-led in both role and spirit.

All other side couples are BG, both in role and spirit.

2. An original fantasy setting.

3. Both leads are sexually inexperienced. The female lead’s morals are questionable, so don’t follow her example.

4. The leads are not blood-related! Their romance and intimate interactions only begin after they end their sibling relationship and marry.
