Why Is the CP from That Chaotic Romance Novel Fixated on Me?

Zhao Zhihe transmigrates into a book, a bestselling novel in the city's literary scene, also known as The Untouchable Heartthrob and His Many Devoted Suitors.

As suitor number who-knows-what, he'll be a face-slapping supporting character who gets written out in the third episode.

System: If you can get the untouchable heartthrob A and the main love interest B to reach a happy ending, you'll survive. Isn't that a great deal?

He hasn't even met the protagonist, but somehow he's become B's childhood friend and "best buddy and sidekick," following B to an elite academy packed with the rich and powerful.

Just as he's almost forgotten that ridiculous mission, A, who has been absent from the plot for over a decade, makes a spectacular appearance at the scene of his group fight...

The words "protagonist" might as well be written on the untouchable heartthrob's forehead. But never mind that he's been staring at Zhao Zhihe's ankles the whole time. The character who's described as delicate and frail then knocks him out with a surprising amount of strength.

How does a straight guy make two gay men fall in love? Zhao Zhihe doesn't know how other people would do it, but he's lucky enough to have a kind online friend willing to guide him step by step.

Thanks to the online friend's guidance, the CP's chemistry grows stronger and stronger. It seems the heavens have finally switched him to easy mode.

Zhao Zhihe watches the progress with satisfaction. Delighted that he's survived the scenario, he gets drunk at a party for the young masters and sees A "shyly" dodge B's hand.

He drains his glass and makes the same harmless joke he always does, planning to skip ahead to the happy-ending plot:

Surrounded by people, the ordinary young man is dressed in finery. Compared with the powerful men around him, he looks like a drab little bird.

But in full view of everyone, the gloomy young man lounges in a velvet chair, idly tipping his glass. Red wine spills over the hand of the person standing before him.

The notoriously volatile young master of the Yi family crouches down, gently takes the young man's hand, and wipes it clean. Then he asks as naturally as can be:

"What else do you want? I'll get it for you."

The young man's shoe grinds against the man's fine trousers, his voice teasing.

P.S.:

There is no romantic tension between the semes! (This is important.) The uke has simply received false information.

The ending has separate routes, so there's no need to bet on a pairing.
