[The protagonist has changed. I really love this premise and will definitely write it, but apart from the worldbuilding, anything could change.]
The World Tree descended, forcing the entire planet to take part in higher-dimensional dungeons, competing against other worlds across the universe for the one and only chance to ascend within the next century.
Compared with the other planets, Earthlings seemed to be at a disadvantage.
The insectoid race was physically powerful and rigorously trained, united in faith in their empress. The mechanical people had not only extraordinary intelligence, but had also transformed their bodies into mobile arsenals. The gods' followers could call on their deities for a power-up whenever they were at a loss, and every one of them was a fervent believer...
Fortunately, the World Tree valued fairness. In the first beginner dungeon, Earthlings could draw one extra ability.
So some people went cyberpunk and modified their limbs, opened their chests to place an idol inside, and began praying for a divine descent. Others tremulously flew on swords or took out staves to serve as mobile artillery, trading fire with their opponents. As for Ying Yulu, she dodged desperately amid a hail of bullets, drawing talismans as she said, "Wait, let me save first."
Note:
1. The settings are an utterly chaotic mash-up. I want to write a story about people from different settings and planets competing on the same stage. After all, Earthlings can't be the only ones constantly dragged into infinite-flow scenarios.
2. I'll add more if I think of anything.
