Yu Yi became the last pure-blooded human on Blue Star. He refused all prosthetics and implants, and didn't even install the brain-computer interface considered essential for "able-bodied people."
As an undocumented person at the very bottom of society, with no rights granted by either the government or corporations, his place in the world was so precarious that nobody would care if he hanged himself. But he didn't mind.
One day, the troublemaking Yu Yi built a bionic man out of boredom and named him U01.
But U01 developed emotions on his own and threatened to chop Yu Yi up if he kept doing weird things to him.
