Yu An, however, got up off the ground, dragged Ye Xingtian to the cliff's edge, and kicked him over.

The System snapped, “Yu An, what are you doing?!”

Yu An looked confused. “Huh? That's what you said, System! Ye Xingtian has to jump off a cliff to get a fortuitous encounter! He couldn't move, so I had to help him jump!”

A random cannon-fodder character from the novel came after Ye Xingtian, hoping to kill him.

The System, minding its own business, sat eating seeds and peanuts, waiting for the show to begin.

But Yu An immediately jumped in, pulled out a huge pile of talismans and magical treasures, and blasted the random cannon fodder into oblivion.

Yu An angrily whipped the corpse. “That jerk stole my cannon-fodder mission, leaving me with nothing to do! I'm the only one allowed to bully Ye Xingtian. If I kill off all the other cannon fodder, then I'll get every cannon-fodder mission from now on, hehehe!”

The mission was to take Ye Xingtian on as his underling, but it failed. Seeing Ye Xingtian look at Yu An more and more strangely, the System grew increasingly nervous.

But Yu An thumped his chest and promised he absolutely wouldn't take Ye Xingtian on as an underling.

The System had only just relaxed when Yu An turned around and signed a master-servant contract with Ye Xingtian.

Ye Xingtian clutched his heart.

It wasn't the answer he'd been hoping for, but…

Oh no, he couldn't help it. Was this what it felt like to fall in love?

Little scene

Ye Xingtian looked at his sweet, soft little wife, pregnant with his baby, still diligently playing the cannon-fodder role. Every day, Yu An labored around with his belly sticking out, trying to “get himself killed” by bullying Ye Xingtian, then waiting eagerly for Ye Xingtian to deliver a face-slapping put-down.

What could Ye Xingtian do? Of course he went along with his wife's wishes, pretending to be badly bullied, then pretending to fly into a helpless rage.

…As for delivering a face-slapping put-down to his wife?

His wife was so adorable. How could he slap his wife's face?

Ye Xingtian smiled as he leaned his face toward Yu An's palm.
