Gojo Satoru felt that Geto Suguru had been acting strangely. Geto still gave him Kikufuku as usual and nagged and lectured him as usual, but Gojo couldn't shake the feeling that his best friend was drifting farther and farther away.
"Suguru, what's been going on with you lately?"
"Nothing, Satoru. I've just had too much somen."
Seeing the familiar smile on Geto's lips, Gojo believed him.
Until he came across a fox crouching by the roadside, sobbing quietly. Gojo couldn't help going over to comfort him.
"Are you all right?"
The fox told Gojo about his heartbreak. The more Gojo listened, the more the fox's story sounded exactly like Geto's: a partner driven to the brink of collapse by ideals and a sense of justice.
Gojo eagerly asked the fox, "So, did the two of you make up afterward?"
The fox wiped away tears that were already gone. "No. In the end, he cheated on me."
He ran away with his beloved ideals.
After getting everything off his chest, the fox left without looking back, leaving Gojo frozen in place, unable to accept the ending.
From that day on, Geto's "good days" were over.
When Geto took a bath, Gojo pounded on the door from outside. "Suguru! What are you doing in there? Don't leave me all alone!"
His voice was so pitiful, like a ragdoll cat abandoned by its owner.
After Geto gave in and indulged him once, Gojo gradually took over every part of his life. He was there when they ate, when they went on missions, and when they slept.
"Is Satoru getting a little too clingy lately?" Geto, who had been suffering under Gojo's constant attention, couldn't help complaining to Ieiri Shoko.
With a cigarette dangling from her mouth, Shoko glanced at Gojo clinging to Geto's waist and refusing to let go, then sneered. "Scumbag."
She left without looking back.
