Also titled: [HagiMatsu] Reborn with a Criminal in Hand, Kicking Death Flags Aside
Synopsis:
Jinpei Matsuda was reborn.
He died saving his childhood friend, shot through the heart by a criminal and killed on the spot...
Unexpectedly, he was reborn before it all began. This time, he discovered that many things around him had changed dramatically. These changes would lead him and his friends to uncover a conspiracy full of mysteries, a vast whirlpool that seemed to suck them in. Behind these enigmatic plots lay one bloody, unsolved case after another.
Gradually, Matsuda realized that his childhood friend had started acting strangely too. He suddenly seemed tense and worried about Matsuda's safety, as if afraid Matsuda might disappear at any moment.
What puzzled Matsuda even more was that scenes from his dreams at night were beginning to overlap with reality.
Had everything in his dreams happened before?
Did that mean he'd been reborn more than once? No, or maybe he and Hagi had both been reborn more than once?
Were they trapped in this inescapable whirlpool, repeating different experiences over and over?
Kenji Hagiwara (Hagi): Jinpei, I don't want to go through the pain of losing you again. So this time, don't leave me behind...
Jinpei Matsuda: You idiot! I'm the one who should be saying that to you! Neither of us is allowed to leave first this time.
Kenji Hagiwara (Hagi): Yeah! We're both going to be okay.
Jinpei Matsuda: And those other idiots too. No one gets to leave first!
PS: The plot is different from the original Detective Conan story, and the events are different too. Although the story still takes place in the Conan universe, it isn't closely connected to Detective Conan. Some characters from the series will appear, including little Conan, who is still Shinichi, and the ever-present, frequently appearing egghead.
Also: This story takes place in a parallel HagiMatsu universe, so there is no Black Organization. There will be other villains and original characters.
Theme: World peace, fighting evil, and upholding justice
