1.
Sang Ling, the saintess of the Sacred Domain, sees the future in the Mirror of Heavenly Secrets: a God of Slaughter will emerge in the Immortal Realm, possessing overwhelming strength. Before her eyes, the astonishingly handsome young sword cultivator drives his fiendish black sword into the chest of the Sacred Lord with his own hands. A sea of flames devours the only person she has ever loved.
Furious and shocked, Sang Ling returns to the past. The God of Slaughter is now no more than a sickly young man covered in wounds, and the body she has taken over happens to belong to his fiancee. Sang Ling thinks getting rid of him will be easy.
But he sees through her the first time they meet, and Sang Ling is the one he imprisons.
Sang Ling needs yang energy to maintain her possession of the body. The bad news is that she's trapped in a tiny space where she can't hunt yang-rich demons. The good news is that the man who imprisoned her has a pure yang constitution.
2.
While imprisoned, Sang Ling often dreams of the happy life her original body once had: the beloved jewel of the Eastern Realm, with loving parents, an exceptionally talented older brother, a friend she first met in a fight, and the childhood sweetheart to whom she'd been betrothed since she was young.
Every time Sang Ling wakes, tears stream down her face. She always meets the gloomy, menacing gaze of her "fiance," and can't help mourning the handsome young boy from her dreams, so bright and full of life.
Their eyes meet. The flames in his gaze burn ever brighter as he presses against her and grips her wrists. Scorching breath falls on her cool, pale skin, and warm, soft lips gently lick away the tears on her cheek.
Later, Sang Ling remembers everything: on the rainy night the Southern and Eastern Realms fell, he killed her with his own hands, causing her tribulation to fail. Yet he cried even harder, as if the whole world had abandoned him.

Pei Zhun cultivates the Way of Slaughter, his hands stained with countless lives, including those of his own family and friends. While cultivating in Kunlun, he appears bright and noble, but deep down he's irredeemably dark.
One day, a young woman comes up the mountain, claiming to be his future wife.
Of course, what she says is true. The body she's inhabiting belongs to his fiancee, and at that moment, the blood on his sword is still warm.
He imprisons the girl and frantically calls for her soul, only to realize that she's already come back. He has her again, and fears the moon will disappear once more.
The girl cups his face and tells him, "You're just ill. I'll always be by your side and spend my whole life helping you heal."
Liar.
She lied to him again.
4.
Pei Zhun crosses the Sea of Delusion and the Mountain of Tribulation, finally finding the Sacred Domain.
Under the pale moonlight, he sees her in a magnificent palace, embracing a handsome young man tightly.
Pei Zhun's eyes turn red, jealousy burning away his reason.
He kidnaps her and holds her captive in his arms, burying his face fiercely against her neck.
A golden formation appears beneath their feet, and scarlet contract characters race across it.
"You'll never escape me, not in this life or the next."
P.S. A faked-death plot.
Thesis: You can overcome fate.
