Jiang Yue loves to have fun. He spends his days roaming around, skateboarding, playing football, and hanging out in bars.

He's carefree and flirtatious, but also quite warmhearted.

One day at a bar, he takes a fancy to Lu Xun Ye and asks him outright, "Wanna have sex?"

They hit it off and seek pleasure together from time to time.

However, Lu Xun Ye only sleeps with him. He never kisses him.

Even when Jiang Yue hands him his health check report, Lu Xun Ye still refuses.

Until one day, Jiang Yue schedules an orthodontic consultation, and Lu Xun Ye appears before him in a white coat...

Lu Xun Ye tells him his teeth are crowded, his upper left canine has erupted high, and there's a gap in his upper teeth. Jiang Yue doesn't take in a word. All he remembers is the kiss he offered, only for Lu Xun Ye to coldly turn away.

Twice.

Fine, don't kiss me, then.

Lu Xun Ye offers to straighten Jiang Yue's teeth, even giving him the sort of deal every orthodontic patient longs for but can never get: "Come to Deer Orthodontics, and I'll personally handle your treatment from start to finish."

"I don't want to."

Jiang Yue isn't having it.

He is determined to switch to another doctor.

Lu Xun Ye's voice drops low, his tone cold and hard. "Then who are you going to choose?"

Jiang Yue: "I'll see Director Wu."

Lu Xun Ye: "The professor's booked solid."

Jiang Yue: "I'll see Dean Shen."

Lu Xun Ye: "He's busy."

Jiang Yue: "Then I'll see Doctor Pei."

Lu Xun Ye's expression grows increasingly unreadable. "Why won't you choose me?"

Lu Xun Ye doesn't become Jiang Yue's orthodontist quite so smoothly. Jiang Yue often asks him strange questions. For example:

Jiang Yue: "Can you kiss while wearing braces?"

Lu Xun Ye: "You can't kiss even without braces."

Jiang Yue: "Why?"

Lu Xun Ye: "It's unhygienic."

Jiang Yue: "Then do braces scrape your mouth when you kiss?"

Lu Xun Ye glances up at him. "Who are you planning to kiss?"

Jiang Yue thinks for a moment. "Relax, I'm not kissing you."

Lu Xun Ye: "They scrape. A lot."

Besides asking innocent questions, Jiang Yue sometimes does innocent, foolish things. For instance, while Lu Xun Ye is helping him bond a bracket to a lower tooth, Jiang Yue lightly runs his tongue over Lu Xun Ye's rubber-gloved hand. The gesture is flirtatious, deliberate, almost seductive.

Lu Xun Ye's fingertips tremble slightly. His gaze, however, is cold enough to cut Jiang Yue down. Ignoring Jiang Yue's enthusiasm, he scolds him in a low voice: "Don't move."
