(The premise hasn’t changed; I’ve tweaked what makes it interesting.)
The beautiful man I had pinned to the floor in the funeral hall that year, the one who cried in my arms, later became a nationwide sensation and a superstar adored by millions. His ads played on giant screens downtown.
The bright young man I had found in a garbage heap and lovingly raised later became a regular fixture in the financial news, a feared, ambitious businessman who could bring a carefully built corporate empire crashing down with a snap of his fingers.
The man who was the gentlest, most tender moonlight in so many people’s hearts stayed with me for two years, then lost both his legs and spent the rest of his life in a wheelchair.
I was ordinary, and I was lucky.
They always said that beneath my disgraceful reputation was a heart as clear and precious as crystal.
But I knew they all hated me.
Back then, I thought that if I had another life, I would stay far away from them.
But I knew they wouldn’t let me go.
The day of the fire, I heard them apologize.
If I’m reborn,
I’ll change the fate of this place.
But we must never have a story together again.
Mi Rui’s Notes
| All are unhinged | Chinese students in the UK | rivalry between friends × rivalry between suitors | the latecomer wins | fallen moonlight | slight ensemble cast | utopian romance

Xie Sibo drew everyone’s attention wherever he went. He was the kind of man who seemed impossibly unattainable.
At first, everyone thought he was just acting on a whim.
But only he knew there was just one reason he got involved in Mi Rui’s affairs:
He was curious why a woman like her would eventually become his wife.
And he cherished her so much.
The men around her were variously flirtatious, shameless, or scheming.
And she was desperately in love with one of them.
So how did he end up winning her over?
By stealing her away? Seducing her with his looks? Throwing money at her?
What a joke.
Why would he want to win her over?
He’d never be interested in someone like her.
*The heroine is reborn, the hero has glimpsed the future, and the latecomer wins.
Happy ending.
Note: None of the characters are perfect. They all have selfish desires, and each has a full character arc ahead. If this isn’t for you, please stop reading.
