[Beast Taming] [Leveling] [Academy] [Power Fantasy]
Yun Xiao had studied by lamplight for three years, finally survived the college entrance exams and made it into a top-tier university. Then she closed her eyes, opened them again, and somehow found herself back in her senior year of high school.
At first, sitting in the exam hall, she still had a glimmer of hope. With the foundation she'd built for the college entrance exams, getting into a good university should be a piece of cake, right?
Then she saw the exam syllabus.
Could someone tell her why the college entrance exams included pet beast battles?!
Whatever. She could always get into an ordinary university with her written exam scores alone.
But when she opened her math textbook, why was the math exam asking:
Xiaoming has Fluffy Clouds and Flame Chickens at home. Together, they have 16 heads and 52 feet. How many Fluffy Clouds and Flame Chickens does Xiaoming have?
Seriously, why do the chickens in this beast-taming world's classic heads-and-legs problem have three legs?!
At first, all she wanted was to scrape through the college entrance exams, coast happily for four years, and get her diploma.
Could someone tell her why the intercollegiate tournament for advanced beast-taming schools required a first-year student to compete?!
At the first-year placement assessment, the upperclassmen chatted away while directing their pet beast, the Black Armor Tortoise, to take on ten opponents in a row.
Then Yun Xiao, the utterly unremarkable student who had ranked dead last in the entrance exam, took the field.
Her tiny, adorable, curled-ear Flame Cat leaped up to knee height and swiped down the main defensive beast of a senior on the fourth-year team: the Black Armor Tortoise, with maxed-out defense.
Everyone: ?!!!!
At the university league, when a key player from Sakura Island Beast-Taming University was injured just as they reached the finals for the first time in twenty years, Yun Xiao stepped in as a substitute.
At first, the audience thought, A first-year student? Sakura Island University must be really desperate to field a freshman in the finals.
Then her pet, now evolved into a Blazing Cat, unleashed a high-temperature cross-shaped wave of fire and burned the reigning champions' ace pet beast, the Blue-Winged Bird, to a crisp.
The whole venue erupted.
You call that a first-year student's strength?!
Years later, someone interviewed Yun Xiao, the youngest world beast-taming champion in history, legendary beast tamer, and leader of Huaguo's new generation, and asked what her secret to success was.
Yun Xiao smiled at the question.
"My secret? Do more heads-and-legs problems."
Theme: Even in a beast-taming world, you have to study hard!
