Ru Lu Jin has three major trials in his life, and two of them come from his friend Dazai.
The first: He was bound to a System as a young, naive child and dumped in a completely unfamiliar world. Then the System went silent, leaving Ru Lu Jin to face the world's malice.
Fortunately, he met a friend, which let him grow up safe and sound, in body and mind.
The second: The System found him again, forcing him to separate from his friend without so much as a goodbye. In another world, he met his friend from the future.
This friend was gay, and nearly bent Ru Lu Jin in half. After that, he became a little homophobic.
The third: After countless hardships, Ru Lu Jin finally got bent by his friend.
Many people liked him, and many people followed him. Feelings can't be controlled, and they can drive people mad.
Half of those who had romantic feelings for him were alternate versions of his friend.
In the end, the Dazai he had raised hugged him from behind. "We'll be together forever. That's what we promised, isn't it?"
Ru Lu Jin didn't understand.

Ru Lu Jin lowered his eyes, leaned down, and breathed softly beside Dazai's ear in warning. "Actually, it would be best to keep things the way they were before."
Unbeknownst to him, that was exactly what Dazai wanted to hear. He clung to Ru Lu Jin, his whole body trembling with excitement. A Jin, I can finally have you.

Content warnings
One-on-one, top, happy ending, Dazai is the bottom. The top dotes on the bottom, and they dote on each other. The bottom pursues the top. There are some rough patches early on, so this may not suit readers who are extremely particular about top or bottom roles.
The early chapters follow a warm, coming-of-age storyline. The protagonists are very young, and the romance develops later.
The top awakens his ability very late, and it's tentacles, with a touch of Lovecraftian horror. He only learns the plot after contacting the System for a second time.
Characters from different worlds may appear in one another's stories, but they'll return to their own worlds. The worlds won't merge.
The story is focused on Dazai, and the top is also the focus. Please read with caution if that bothers you.

* This is a coming-of-age story. The instances are just there to mark different stages, and aren't actual instances. I don't recommend skipping around between them.
