He Wei felt like he had been seeing senior Xu Xun everywhere lately.
His face was cold, but what he did didn't match his temperament.
When a wheel broke off He Wei's suitcase at the start of term, he looked up and saw him. He saw him again while eating with another senior in the cafeteria, and even during military training, he spotted him standing tall among the instructors.
There were so many coincidences that He Wei began to think Xu Xun had a crush on him, but the pain in his heart made him retreat.
He watched in silence and nudged things along at just the right moments. At last, he pried open Xu Xun's mouth (scratch that), and got his own mouth pried open.
They would spend two hours gazing at the stars on nights in the far north. They would book a late-night flight to the seaside just to see with their own eyes whether the blue tears really were as blue as they looked in videos. But in the end, the two of them would always share one short kiss after another.
Then, for what must have been the umpteenth time, He Wei heard Xu Xun say he loved him.
It was only when the pain in his heart became unbearable and He Wei lay in a hospital bed, dreaming a long, long dream, that he realized these were the very same tricks he had used in his previous life.

At nineteen, Xu Xun had a junior who wouldn't leave him alone and kept insisting he liked him.
At twenty, every time Xu Xun looked at that junior, he wanted to kiss him until he couldn't catch his breath.
Unfortunately, He Wei was delicate. He couldn't get too hot or too cold, and their kisses couldn't be too short or too long. Xu Xun settled for kissing him often, but in small doses.
At twenty-eight, the adorable He Wei, who would scrunch up his face and complain about dust on the floor, became a photograph, because of Xu Xun.
A year later, Xu Xun lay on the bed where they used to sleep in each other's arms. He closed his eyes, almost able to smell He Wei's scent, and finally couldn't hold back his tears.
When he opened his eyes again and saw He Wei, his heartbeat thundered in his ears. He could only think that it was love at first sight.
PS: 1. A sunny, warm-hearted bottom and a cool, aloof top. Chapter One is from the top's perspective for the sake of storytelling; the rest is from the bottom's perspective. Both leads have only ever been with each other.
2. In their previous life, the bottom pursued the top; in this life, the top pursues the bottom. Both have lost their memories, but they will eventually remember both lifetimes.
3. An emotional story, updated whenever inspiration strikes. There are completed novels in my profile.
4. Written in a fit of excitement after reading A Man Called Ove.
Theme: Don't argue.
