Fusang was a remnant soul drifting through the wilderness. She had no idea where she came from or where she was headed. She simply drifted through life in a daze.

One day, she met a scholar surnamed Xie.

Then strange things began to happen:

A bride in a blazing red wedding dress hung from a massive locust tree that blotted out the sky, giving Fusang an eerie smile;

A beautiful mermaid lived in a fish tank aboard a ship. The mermaid's woven silk became the shrouds for the passengers;

The leader of a troupe of acrobats loved doing good deeds and had taken in many poor children with deformities, caring for them tenderly. Meanwhile, murders were occurring one after another in the city;

Fusang and the scholar were dragged into one bizarre incident after another. They had no choice but to unravel the clues and find the key to breaking each case.

But which was it: Zhuang Zhou dreaming he was a butterfly, or a butterfly dreaming it was Zhuang Zhou?

Was their meeting a coincidence, or fate?
