[The Neighboring Novel, She Became a Demon Consort] is updating. Take a look, and if the blurb catches your interest, please add it to your favorites. Thanks!
Somehow, Meng Chu went from being a palace selection candidate about to go home and marry someone of her own choosing to being granted to the Sixth Prince as a Lesser Attendant.
Meng Chu thinks it’s no big deal. The only thing is, the Sixth Prince is a little strange. It seems he fell in love with her at first sight?
Well, then she won’t hold back. Beauty fades, and not everyone gets to grow old together, so she’ll just live in the moment.
The first time Zhao Qi saw Meng Chu, he thought she was a fool.
She couldn’t even understand what he said, and thought he was complimenting her.
But fools can be lucky too, and she’s perfectly content with herself.
Whether he is a prince, a prince of the commandery, or a prince of the blood; whether he is neglected by his father, nearly killed by an epidemic, or riding high with the power to govern the country, she remains the same.
The court, foreign powers, internal strife, war, the succession struggle, great clans, open schemes, secret battles. Ambition grows in the shadows, and the desire for power takes root in the heart like thorns. The defeated die, and Zhao Qi has nowhere left to retreat.
And the throne is not the end. The people’s livelihood, powerful ministers, and the borders all demand his attention. Enemies abroad still harbor ill intent, while tigers of the former dynasty watch hungrily for a chance to restore it. Little by little, he becomes an emperor like his late father, a ruler who plays ministers and power in the palm of his hand. His realm and its people matter more to him than his own life.
And what about Meng Chu?
The taciturn emperor will never say it aloud, but in his heart, she is every bit as important as his realm.
And Meng Chu sees it all clearly.
Mutual pining and playful push-and-pull. The heroine loves him seven parts but acts ten parts in love; the hero loves her ten parts and gives her twelve, while thinking he is only pretending to love her three parts.
[The story is mainly told from Meng Chu’s perspective. The heroine gradually evolves into a prehistoric Godzilla-like, irritable giant rabbit (figuratively), but even when the hero becomes a master of imperial scheming later on, in his eyes, Meng Chu at her peak is still...]
The setting is an unimportant fictional dynasty: Imperial Prince’s Consort - Secondary Consort - Lesser Attendant - Serving Concubine / Crown Princess - Secondary Consort - Junior Attendant - Court Lady.
Content warning: The hero is not a virgin, but after meeting the heroine, he has no one else. If this is a dealbreaker, I’m truly sorry. I’ll bow my head and take the scolding, but please don’t blame the characters after scolding the author. Of course, it would be even kinder to quietly move on. Thank you.
Theme: The environment people live in shapes their values.
The last paragraph actually made me want to cry. It's such a rare good story. It's really well written.
Zhao Qi is a decent person and doesn't brag casually.
Why did the heroine die so early? She was only about thirty-seven years old. 😭 😭 😭 If they were tortured by the extra story, will they have an afterlife (for example, they will be reincarnated into the modern age)
Although the story is quite interesting, I always felt that the storyline was not smoothly connected.
I rarely comment on a person who is old. This person has a dark psychology. He speculates on others every day. If he is suspicious, he can be called scheming. When he is an emperor, he is nothing. He is just a neurotic.
This Chen Liangyuan is so vicious
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... It's not [splitting] isn't it [splitting] it just stopped like this [bursts crying]
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh this part is so touching.
It's really beautiful. Madam, you must keep writing it! After watching it, I feel a bit unsatisfied
Fortunately, Wanglan didn't do anything stupid.
