After her ex-boyfriend cut off contact for three months and stopped replying to her messages, Xia Ling took it as a breakup.
Just then, her company was struggling and began laying people off. She set off with two huge sacks of luggage and the little money she had managed to save.
She bought a random mystery plane ticket and went wherever it took her.
Then she randomly bought a bus ticket, too. Dragging those two heavy sacks around was exhausting.
As soon as she arrived, she angrily shoved both sacks into a recycling bin by the roadside.
Then she regretted it and tried to retrieve her luggage, but it was nowhere to be found.
She had no idea where she was. It seemed to be somewhere remote, far from any sign of people.
Xia Ling had no strength left to struggle. She lay on the deserted road, rolled over, and gazed up at the clear blue sky.
Suddenly, something squirmed beneath her.
"Ant One, I think we've hunted a human."
"Ant Two, don't be ridiculous. Aren't humans creatures that only exist in myths?"
Xia Ling kept her eyes closed, feeling herself being carried away, swaying gently.
Halfway there, she caught sight of the sign at the village entrance.
"Humanoid Village."
It must have said Human Village. She was too tired, and her vision was blurry.
A gentle breeze stirred. She had never felt such peace.
When she opened her eyes again, a giant ant, nearly four and a half feet tall, was speaking to her.
"Hello, traveler. Welcome to our Humanoid Village."
"Your luggage has been delivered safely, too."
Xia Ling turned her head. The two sacks she'd thrown away were right beside her, safe and sound.
