All the beasts of the Great Wilderness know that the thousand-year-old demon Zhu Yan and the thousand-year-old locust tree demon Li Lun raised a little demon of unknown origins. They only know that it climbs onto roofs and tears them apart every few days, and that the mountain god’s temple shakes as if the earth is splitting open every so often. Though no one has seen the little demon, its reputation is well known, and all the beasts are curious. But before they can even enter the temple, they’re either beaten out with vines or frightened away. After a while, they give up on their curiosity. They thought the two thousand-year-old demons would protect Mount Kunlun for the rest of their lives, but who could have guessed that they would part on bad terms? Some beasts always love to watch the commotion. When the Locust Tree Demon was sealed by the Bai Ze Goddess, a woman in white rushed toward him without hesitation. For some unknown reason, the heavens and earth changed. The great demon Zhu Yan was overcome by malevolent energy, lost his reason, and killed the Bai Ze Goddess. Just as the little demon thought he couldn’t escape, a god descended and saved him from peril. But he could never make out the god’s face. When he awoke, everyone around him had vanished. He told the other demons what had happened, but not one believed him. Yet he knew that gods truly existed in this world.
“Gods belong to all things in the world, but Ying Suxu belongs only to you.”
