Fake goody-two-shoes vs. genuine drama queen
Qu Zhaoyao coasted through life on her family's money until she was twenty.
She thought she could keep living it up forever, but then her father's investment failed and the family faced bankruptcy.
As the family's only daughter, Qu Zhaoyao grumbled and married a man eight years her senior to save the family business.
The family business bounced back, and Qu Zhaoyao moved into an even more luxurious villa.
After getting married, Qu Zhaoyao got a little border collie named Kaka and carried on with her happy little life.
The only downside was that her ridiculously handsome husband was an old-fashioned stick-in-the-mud.
He wouldn't let her go to bars or watch male models.
Life seemed to be getting less and less fun.
A year later, Qu Zhaoyao divorced him because he squeezed toothpaste from the bottom of the tube.
The little border collie was awarded to her ex-husband...
The first week after the divorce, Lin Jinru called. "Kaka wrecked the house. Come pick him up."
The second week, Qu Zhaoyao called him. "Kaka wrecked my place too. You'd better take him back."
After a long pause, he said, "Maybe he doesn't want us living apart."
Qu Zhaoyao hung up with a snap. What nonsense. He wasn't this forward when they were married.
In the end, when she saw the man and dog standing pitifully at her door, Qu Zhaoyao couldn't bring herself to shut it.
Then one day after they remarried, Qu Zhaoyao happened to overhear Lin Jinru training the dog.
"If Mom doesn't come home on time, go chew up the sofa."
Realizing she'd been played, Qu Zhaoyao was devastated.
What a scheming man, and... what a dumb dog!

One day after the remarriage, the Lin couple was invited to a banquet.
A gaggle of fake-sweet friends made snide remarks about how clever Qu Zhaoyao had been to win Professor Lin back.
Qu Zhaoyao gave a little huff. "His good looks are what kept me around."
Everyone looked at Lin Jinru standing behind her, waiting for the show to start.
After all, Professor Lin was always so serious and proper. Surely he wouldn't like his wife saying that.
They expected Qu Zhaoyao to embarrass herself in front of everyone, but Professor Lin put an arm around her waist and said with utmost seriousness, "That's right. I'm lucky to be exactly her type."
Everyone was stunned.
In Lin Jinru's arms, Qu Zhaoyao was still the same Qu Zhaoyao.
Always proud, always impossible to ignore.
