The Impostor (Married First, Love Later)

#Madam, you wouldn’t want your husband to find out, would you?

Arrogant and frail x gentle and slow-witted

Nan Liujing, younger brother of the Empress, founding hero, and richest man in Great Yan, is over twenty and still unmarried. Part of the reason is his merchant background, but more importantly, the imperial physicians have confirmed he won’t live past twenty-three.

Recently, rumors have been circulating that Nan Liujing is not only short-lived, but impotent, too. Once the news spread, the young women who had been tempted by his good looks finally gave up on him.

The Empress was furious and ordered an investigation. In the end, however, they discovered the rumor had come from Nan Liujing himself.

The Empress snapped, “Are you really planning to stay unmarried for the rest of your life?”

Nan Liujing smiled lazily. “Of course not. I came today to ask you to grant me a marriage.”

Lin Feiqing has a huge secret.

She tricked her way into this marriage.

She isn’t Nan Liujing’s savior at all. She married him only to protect herself.

At first, she thought she would tell Nan Liujing the truth once nobody was pressuring her to marry anymore.

But later, she couldn’t help secretly wishing this marriage in name only would last just a little longer.

Years later, a family moved into the capital, just two streets away from her home.

And the woman of the house was the person who had truly saved Nan Liujing all those years ago.

-

After the family moved in, Lin Feiqing did everything she could to keep the two households apart.

Life remained peaceful, as if nothing had happened.

Until one perfectly ordinary evening, Nan Liujing suddenly said he had some business to take care of at the neighbors’ house the next day.

Already feeling guilty, Lin Feiqing froze on the spot.

“Why are you going to her house?” she asked shakily.

Nan Liujing looked at her, then suddenly curled his lip into a wicked smile.

“Say something nice, and I’ll tell you.”

Single-couple, one-on-one, happy ending, romance-focused, (slightly) sweet.
