Liu Shu, an inheritor of Nushu, went into the mountains with her teacher to study in seclusion. She had gone to sleep in a temple room, but when she woke, she found herself staring into a wolf's eyes. The sound of wolves chewing on corpses filled her ears, and she nearly got buried alive.
Once she came to her senses, Liu Shu realized she had transmigrated. Her soul had entered the body of the original owner, who had been killed and dumped at a shrine piled high with corpses. The girl looked to be in her teens, with a long gash across her belly.
In just a few short days, Liu Shu survived one life-threatening ordeal after another and met someone else who had nowhere to go. He, the male lead, lived in the shrine and survived by stealing offerings. He was strange and hardly spoke, like a taciturn oil bottle. He had no name and moved like a wild man, but he had one remarkable skill: climbing trees. He could scramble up a tree in seconds and perch on a branch.
Liu Shu had no memories of the original owner, didn't know where she lived, and didn't come with a System.
All she could do was live in the shrine with the strange man. Later, they were hunted and forced to wander into a village. Liu Shu decided to make the best of it and settle down.
Little scene 1
One perfectly ordinary day,
Liu Shu accidentally came up with candied hawthorn skewers in the colors of a traffic light and went out to sell them. She made over thirty taels of silver on her very first day.
Liu Shu hefted her money pouch and showed it off to Little Wolf, the male lead. "I made money! I don't even know what to spend it on~"
Little Wolf didn't even glance at it. He carried the wooden basin out to dump the water she'd used to wash her feet.
Liu Shu: "Hmph~"
Little scene 2
A plague of insects struck the village. The locusts, as huge as a palm, devoured all the crops.
That day, Little Wolf was working in the fields when one of the locusts bit a hole in him, and blood began to gush out. The crops were close to being ruined too. Liu Shu wanted to develop an insecticide to avenge Little Wolf and save the crops, but then realized she had studied the humanities and didn't know chemistry, so she had to give up. The locusts in the fields kept multiplying. Liu Shu remembered that chickens and ducks ate locusts, so she took Little Wolf and her little helpers to herd the poultry and wipe out the locusts.
The locust infestation made Liu Shu think of a dish: stir-fried locusts. She'd been an amazing cook in her old world, so she stir-fried every locust she caught and sold them to inns in the city. Liu Shu made a fortune and became rich at last.
When Liu Shu tried to use the money to start a business, she discovered that both she and Little Wolf were unregistered residents, so the first thing they had to do was register themselves.
Little scene 3
War broke out and the nation was in peril. By then, Liu Shu had become a famous merchant throughout the land, and Little Wolf had entered government service.
In the nation's time of crisis, the writing system of Nushu became encrypted intelligence that could be used to transmit information about the enemy.
Liu Shu controlled this intelligence network, trading information back and forth with the opposing nation.
Little Wolf's rough, scarred hand caressed Liu Shu's cheek. "A wolf is the most loyal."
Liu Shu pressed his hand against her cheek. "You're the wolf cub I raised. I trust you."
1. One-on-one romance, a nurturing relationship, and both leads grow over time. At first the heroine has no status, household registration, power, or influence, and is constantly bullied and very weak. She gradually grows stronger later. The hero may not be very clever at first, but he isn't stupid, and he'll improve later.
2. Farming in the early chapters, business in the middle, and protecting the country in the later chapters.
3. The hero can't speak at first, so the heroine names him Little Wolf. He'll get a different name later.
4. Both leads are virgins.
My upcoming story, Male Concubine, is on my profile. Take a look if you're interested.
Blurb: Ying Wei wakes up to find a heavily pregnant man in bed beside her, his face pale and his forehead covered in sweat. Ying Wei lifts the covers and sees blood beneath him. Before she can make sense of anything, a baby is in her arms, and a crowd dressed in ancient clothing loudly congratulates her.
"Congratulations, Your Highness! You've been blessed with a son. At last, the royal household has an heir!"
Ying Wei looks down at the newborn daughter in her arms and falls into deep thought. She's a mother now? And the one who gave birth to her daughter is a man?
It takes Ying Wei some time to figure out that she's transmigrated in a wildly melodramatic turn of events. The original owner was a workaholic prince obsessed with military affairs. She had no official spouse, only a male consort named Yuan Yao, whom her emperor sister had snatched from an enemy nation and then given to her. He was something like a concubine.
In this world, men can give birth. The original owner was rarely home, and the male consort only became pregnant because the emperor had secretly drugged the original owner. This miscarriage was also the result of the emperor secretly drugging her again.
Ying Wei has no choice but to accept that she's transmigrated for the time being, but she's never dated anyone and has no idea how to get along with this male consort.
The male consort is handsome, but cold in temperament. Still, he's fairly respectful to Ying Wei, and she can't help being attracted by his looks.
Warnings:
1. Men give birth. Don't read if you dislike that.
2. The story contains a lot of personal worldbuilding, so the tags are only a rough guide.
3. This story came to me on a whim, so don't take it too seriously.
4. The heroine transmigrates, and the hero is reborn.
5. If the heroine's name seems a little unusual, you can just call her "English." I'm terrible at names, so please bear with me. Actually, I have a lot of flaws and I'm scared of getting scolded, so if you don't like my writing, please leave on your own.
