Switching to Tomato. Luo Yixun is the legitimate daughter of the Governor of Yangzhou. She has a stepmother, stepbrother, and stepsister. Though she appears privileged, she is actually constantly ostracized. Since childhood, she has been engaged to the richest man in Luobei. Her greedy stepmother, Madam Cui, covets wealth and encourages her nephew to befriend Luo Yixun. Luo Yixun is meek and indecisive, and her cousin strings her along with sweet talk until she believes he is the love of her life. After Luo marries into the Pei family, her cousin, Cui Changru, plots to seize all of the Pei family's property and abandons her. Pei Yanshen dies full of hatred, cursing the women of the family to die before reaching adulthood.
In the modern era, Luo Yuxun and the other women in her family all die for various reasons between the ages of 15 and 20. Unwilling to accept her fate, she returns to her hometown. In the ancestral hall of an old residence, she touches a bronze hairpin and transmigrates. Given a new beginning, she rewrites her family's history, sees through her stepmother's schemes, tears into her rotten cousin, cleans up the mess in her household, experiences the sweetness of love, and breaks a thousand-year-old curse. In another time and place, she and the male lead, Pei Yanshen, write a new story together.
This story's premise was inspired by a romance novel I saw at a street stall twenty years ago. I loved it, but after going abroad and coming back, I lost it. I've always wanted to find it again. Since then, original novels have sprung up all over the internet. I've searched using the characters' names and keywords from the plot, but have never been able to find it. Later, I read many transmigration and marriage-before-love novels, but still felt none could compare. I want to use my memories to find that story again, add some of my own ideas, and recreate the story I love most.
