This is a birthday story I wrote for myself, for October 17.
Okita is a widely known figure, both in history and in various works. His illness is probably a lingering worry in the hearts of everyone who admires him.
If we don't want to distort the facts or the original characterization, but still want to give him a happy ending, is that even possible?
I think writers can only go with the flow, or else avoid the subject altogether.
To get back to the unit as soon as possible, and carry on with the one thing he had, the one thing he believed in, he was resting with all his might.
It must be lonely, being alone.
Even though it makes me sad, I still wanted to write this, to do my best to write everything I know and everything I don't know, though I don't think I did a very good job of it (laughs).
This Okita doesn't have a sly smile or a mean streak. He's just a simple, lonely boy.
In fact, this is also my first Okita x Chizuru story.
I call myself an Okita x Chizuru fan, yet it took me until today to write a short story of four thousand words, and its tone is so gloomy, too. I'm really not doing my side justice :P
Well then, happy birthday to me.
Premise:
I was tortured to the point of being tortured again, but it still has the flavor of the original work >_<
