After that, he fought his way to the top in an infinite game. He used the tip of his sword to lift the mask of the infinite game's villain NPC who had killed his fiancée, only to find a face identical to hers.

This was the NPC rumored by players to be incredibly popular, always saving people in times of danger.

After accidentally killing Luo Xingjun, the fiance finally understood everything and, for the second time, cried so hard he could barely catch his breath.

When he shattered the void and arrived, he wore a snowy white suit, pressed to perfection, and held a bouquet of roses. His expression was as wooden as ever.

But tears glimmered in his eyes. He fought to keep them from blurring his vision and stopping him from seeing the young man he had lost and found again.

"Wifey, I ascended to the divine throne and made a sincere wish upon the Holy Grail. Every bit of it was for one purpose: to marry you."

His obsessive ex, who had broken up with him a hundred years ago but still wouldn't let go, became the serial killer in the starting world. He killed Luo Xingjun again and again, even following him as he transmigrated through different worlds.

"No matter where you go, I'll find you. You'll never escape my grasp."

He pressed a dagger against Luo Xingjun's vulnerable throat, a sinister yet passionate laugh bubbling in his throat. "Your god is long dead. Forget him and get back together with me. It's your only choice."

Luo Xingjun's god fell on a summer evening when the sky screen was awash in crimson, like a faint star at dusk, slowly melting into the firmament.

The god held Luo Xingjun's hand tightly and bestowed one final "truth" upon him.

"Forget me. Live well."

As Luo Xingjun kept searching for a way to destroy himself, one day that utterly familiar figure suddenly flashed past the corner of a street, like the slanting sunshine from a mountain crest meeting him on a chilly day.

"Even if I have long since fallen to pieces, I'll still follow your scent again and again, cut through every obstacle, and come for you."

The Children of the World gathered in the Main God Space, all glaring daggers at their romantic rivals.

Luo Xingjun, writing a mission report, said, "...Wait, why did you follow me to my company? Don't tell me you want to be my coworkers, too?"

The Children of the World exchanged glances, each wary of their rivals making a move first.

Then they all answered in unison, "That's exactly right."

1. Lots of unmasking, lots of groveling after the breakup, and lots of rivalry. He runs, they chase. He escapes into the void, they shatter it to follow him. He still can't get away!
