While filming Shadow's Reflection, Jiang Yi discovered that the movie's plot was intricately connected to her real life.
The events in the script were actually unfolding around her, one by one.
The worst part was, even Director Huang didn't know where the story was headed.
"I've always written as I film," Director Huang said. "Sometimes a dream I had two nights ago becomes the pages you get tomorrow."
In the film, Jiang Yi's character, Su Ruochen, grew increasingly close to Tang Hua's character, Song Qingqiu, played by the award-winning actress. In real life, the two women were also drawn closer by fate.
As filming went on, Jiang Yi found it harder and harder to tell fiction from life. Sometimes, when she looked at Tang Hua, all she could see was Song Qingqiu's face.
In a daze, Jiang Yi seemed to return to that autumn six months ago. In the glow of the setting sun, Qin Shu waved from a carriage, while Song Qingqiu held her veil and smiled, the corners of her mouth visible beneath it.
Author's warnings: Bad ending, the second female lead has an ex-boyfriend, this is my first novel over 10,000 words, and it's not a typical entertainment-industry story, at least in the author's opinion.
Theme: Break free from shackles and overcome adversity
