Volleyball, but I'm Just an Ordinary Nobody

[This is sudden, but long story short, you're about to die!]

You: ...Huh?

*

You're a fragile, unlucky high school girl, an utterly ordinary background character in a manga.

The day a volleyball hit you hard enough to give you a concussion and land you in the hospital, you got bound to a glowing orb called [Dream Love Simulation Workshop].

The System told you that in half a month, your terrible luck would get you killed when an out-of-control truck hit you.

And all the manga said about you was tucked away in a tiny panel in the appendix:

A very brief background news report.

Looking back on your unlucky life, you were overcome with grief and cried on your hospital bed.

Fortunately, the System showed you a way to survive:

Complete the dating simulation minigames it gives you, earn affection points, and trade them for a chance to live.

Sniffling, you opened the simulation system.

Round 1:

[After school, you go to the volleyball club to see your boyfriend, who plays setter.

Unfortunately, the moment you open the door, a stray volleyball smacks you right in the face and knocks you down.

Your blond boyfriend hurries over and asks if you're okay in a thick Kansai accent.

You decide to, ]

Looking up at his tall frame, you clutch your dizzy head and say shakily:

"Your killer volleyball is so cool, but it kind of costs a life."

Round 2:

[Today is your one-month anniversary with your boyfriend.

Usually lazy, and only interested in volleyball and video games, he offers to take you on a date.

Looking into your boyfriend's upturned cat eyes, you decide to, ]

You look up nearby tourist attractions and point to a shrine on a mountain with thousands of steps:

"I heard this place is really powerful. Let's go hike up there."

Good news: You have a chance to survive.

Bad news: You're hopeless at romance.

[Reading Guide]:

1. A delightfully cheesy Mary Sue story.

2. I'll revise the blurb some more.

3. Each round of the dating simulation features a different male guest. I haven't decided exactly who yet. I'll write whoever comes to mind.

Theme: Even a background character can become the protagonist
