Yuan Li is a well-known top talent agent in the industry, but her biggest dream is to achieve financial freedom and then go back to her hometown to lie flat.
Sunbathe, play with cats. What could be better?
But someone doesn't want Yuan Li to quit. The one most opposed is Qin Guyue, the hottest star under her management.
By a twist of fate, Yuan Li gets into a car accident. She dies before she even gets the chance to enjoy her freedom.
Only after her death does she discover that she was living in a book. It tells the story of the heroine's rise from entertainment-industry newcomer to award-winning actress. Naturally, throughout her journey, she receives wholehearted support from various powerful figures.
Qin Guyue is one of them. The book only briefly mentions why he helps the heroine: she reminds him of his deceased agent.
Reminds you of me, my foot! You lecherous bastard, if you want to chase women, don't use me as an excuse!
Yuan Li is furious beyond reason. But when she opens her eyes again, she's back in the autumn when she was seventeen.
That year, she and Qin Guyue have just arrived in Nancheng. Qin Guyue is still an unknown amateur who has just signed up for a talent show.
Yuan Li thinks about how she spent over a decade raising Qin Guyue like her own child. Then she thinks about that bastard using her as an excuse to pick up girls after she died, and promptly runs away.
Indignant, Yuan Li also signs up for a talent show.
On the show, Yuan Li meets many talented, beautiful young women who are willing to work hard. Unfortunately, lacking connections or opportunities, they slowly lose their shine and become one more stepping stone on the heroine's path to success.
The agent in Yuan Li's heart starts burning again. Why bother signing Qin Guyue? There are so many lovely girls here! I'm going to sign them all!
Forget being supporting characters. Come make it big under my management!
Theme: Seize your opportunities and leave no regrets.
