Down-on-his-luck slacker (Jiang Che) x Tibetan Buddhist (Shan Chengxin)
-
Tibet is known as the Heavenly City.
-- Holy and pure, it is the abode of gods and Buddhas.
Jiang Che is an overworked corporate drone, diligent and conscientious. After all these years, he has not only become an older unmarried man, but on his birthday, his company lays him off.
His life is a stagnant pool with no end in sight. Jiang Che stays home and lies flat. A few days later, he suddenly coughs up blood.
Doctor: "As for your condition..."
Jiang Che can't afford the high medical bills, so he cuts off the doctor's tactful explanation. "Please, just tell me straight."
Doctor: "Without chemotherapy, you have two years to live."
-
Jiang Che had never imagined his life would take a turn.
So he decides to become a monk.
