Zhou Yixian sits in the gallery, watching her aunt stand trial in handcuffs. With no solid evidence to clear her of the murder charge, Zhou is at her wit's end when she suddenly recognizes the prosecutor in charge of the case: Ji Xue, her high school classmate.

As the investigation deepens, the two keep running into each other. While inspecting a crime scene at an old machine shop, they get trapped inside. Ji's heat comes early, and her symptoms are severe. Her whole body burns with fever.

Out of humanitarian concern, Zhou offers, "How about I help you?"

Ji: "No need."

Not long after saying this, she collapses from exhaustion. In an emergency, Zhou bites her again and marks her.

When Ji Xue wakes, she covers her burning neck gland and says nothing. She watches as another Omega girl comes to pick Zhou Yixian up, the two of them laughing and fooling around. Before they part, she asks coldly, "You have a girlfriend, and you still want to come after me?"

Zhou Yixian: "...?"

In the end, Zhou's aunt is acquitted, and the case is closed. Zhou assumes she won't see Ji again, but then her aunt signs her up for a matchmaking event.

When she gets there, she finds Prosecutor Ji sitting across from her.

Ji opens with a mocking jab: "What are you doing at a matchmaking event? Where's your girlfriend? Did you break up?"

Zhou Yixian: "...What a sharp-tongued person."

"It was a misunderstanding. She's not my girlfriend."

Zhou thinks this matchmaking date will just be a formality, but then Ji says, "In that case, marry me."

"What do you mean???"

"I need to get married. A marriage of convenience. Are you willing?"

Since they're both busy with work and would make suitable marriage partners, Zhou Yixian agrees. She even formally signs a prenuptial agreement. It stipulates everything, even how their pet cat and mouse are supposed to get along and which areas they're allowed to roam in.

After the wedding, Zhou constantly cleans the cage and feeds Ji Xue's pet mouse, Robin. She handles Robin more often than its owner does, and even helps Robin deliver a litter of pups. Zhou is promoted from pet mom to pet grandma...

Wait, something feels off. Why does this seem like an actual married life?!!!

Only then does she slowly realize just how cunning Ji Xue is.

Ling Henai never expected to wake up one day and find herself married. Her wife was none other than Pei Ningyi, the woman she'd been secretly in love with for years.

Pei Ningyi, the older sister, came down from the study upstairs. After hearing what happened, she only told Pei Ningzhu not to let people into her room so casually in the future. She didn't ask their guest, Ling Henai, to pay for it.

Ling was terribly upset, and never went to their house again. She knew all too well that Pei Ningyi would always take her own sister's side.

But now, Pei Ningyi treats her sister terribly. She's like a completely different person from before.

When Ling asks about it, Pei Ningyi pulls her into her arms and smiles. "So back then, Nai Nai was hurt because of this? Were you jealous? It was your big sister's fault. But now Nai Nai and I are married, so of course you're the person I love most. No one else."

Ling Henai feels a little embarrassed and nods, her cheeks red.

But later, when Ling goes out, she runs into Pei Ningzhu again.

The other woman grabs her arm and says, "Ling Henai, get out of here! Don't stay with someone as rotten as Pei Ningyi. Hurry up and run!"
