Unfortunately, Zhong Nian felt nothing for him and offered him only superficial politeness.
A car accident took Zhong Nian's parents, and his younger sister, Zhong Qing, was left with disabled legs.
To support them and afford his sister's treatment, Zhong Nian accepted Xiao Hansheng's advances and became his boyfriend.
It may not have been a beautiful beginning, but at least things went well for a while.
Xiao Hansheng was handsome, considerate, and generous. He looked after Zhong Nian's studies and daily life, and cared deeply for Zhong Qing, too.

Zhong Nian felt as though his soul had been wrenched from his body. Only later did he learn that he had suffered an episode right there on the spot.

Yan Qiu never imagined that on his very first day back in the country, he would be so lucky as to reunite with the person he had never been able to forget since his youth.
At a private club, Xiao Hansheng was drunk, and at the crowd's urging, he called over his little lover.
After a few drinks, the rich young men started taking their jokes too far. They surrounded the beauty and refused to let him leave.
"Crash!"
It was hard to tell whether the shrill screams or the beauty's fierce glare had silenced the room. Yan Qiu pushed through the crowd and took the broken bottle from Zhong Nian's hand.
As everyone stared in stunned silence, Yan Qiu calmly took Zhong Nian's hand and checked his palm for injuries, then led him away.

A breeze passed, and Zhong Nian's smooth, long hair brushed Yan Qiu's fingertips. Zhong Nian hastily gathered his loose hair to one side and lowered his head in embarrassment.
"I'm sorry I caused a scene at your club, Mr. Yan."
Zhong Nian lowered his eyes. The bright streetlights cast a shadow across his face, making his skin look even more flawless, like polished jade.
Yan Qiu regretfully rubbed his fingertips together, gazing at the beauty, lost in thought.
He shook his head. Remembering that he was already taken, Yan Qiu gave a self-mocking smile and leaned against his car door, about to light a cigarette. Then he noticed Zhong Nian's instinctive frown and put away his lighter, only holding the cigarette beneath his nose to smell it.
"It's fine. They went too far. I should be the one apologizing to you. May I ask your surname?"
Zhong Nian gently pressed a hand to his faintly aching chest and looked up at him. "My surname is Zhong. My name is Zhong Nian."
"Pleased to meet you. I'm Yan Qiu."

1. This is a plot idea I suddenly wanted to write. The logic is dead, so don't overthink it.
2. The love interest changes. Bottom 2 will chase after the top and suffer for it, but won't win him back. There will also be a misunderstanding between the top and bottom. Bottom 1 does win him back.
3. If you don't like stories where the love interest changes, please take the hint and run!
4. The previous two stories were so wholesome. I wanted to write something with a little melodrama.
5. Don't fight. If the arguing gets too heated, the author will grab a spatula and run away...
6. I write what I love, and I won't abandon a story halfway through (except number 5).
