The Red Coffin's Bewitching Ghost

A major archaeological discovery was made during demolition work in the urban district of Qinzhou City: a thousand-year-old tomb was found beneath the foundations of a high-rise building.

A red coffin in the tomb dripped with blood. Fierce chains were fastened across its lid, and eight long spikes sealed its four sides. These were the means used to suppress evil and imprison the tomb's occupant.

The police quickly sealed off the site. Archaeological teams and experts from across the country arrived overnight to conduct a preliminary survey.

When the red coffin was opened, everyone was stunned. Inside lay an impossibly beautiful young man, with an almost demonic appearance. His pale face looked lifelike, as if he were merely asleep.

According to the nearby epitaph, the man's name was Shen Wenchao. He had committed countless evil deeds and been put to death thousands of years ago. His body was then sealed here. Anyone who opened the coffin in later generations was warned to be cautious and never let his vengeful spirit return to the world, and so on...

After reading the epitaph, everyone turned back to look, only to find the remains in the coffin had vanished.

Chen Xu, captain of the Qinzhou City Criminal Investigation Team, worked nonstop for weeks on the red-coffin tomb-robbing case, but found nothing.

One day, he came home from work and saw a handsome man in ancient robes lying on his sofa.

Chen Xu: "?"

He thought the man looked a little familiar.

"Name?" Chen Xu interrogated him as he stood in front of his sofa.

"Shen Wenchao," the ancient-clothed handsome man replied calmly.

"Age?"

"...1,183?"

Chen Xu: "?"

Chen Xu had no idea what to do with this old ancestor who had crawled out of a coffin, so he had no choice but to let him stay at home for now.

He had thought the man would be a troublesome burden. Who could have guessed that Shen Wenchao, a ghostly being who could communicate with the realms of the living and the dead, would be so useful?

A headless woman's corpse in a concrete floor, the mystery of a ghost livestream, a wealthy man's suspicious death by swallowing gold... With just one look from Shen Wenchao, every case became incredibly simple.

In the depths of night, the bewitchingly handsome man in ancient robes draped an arm over Chen Xu's shoulder. "I've helped you so much. How are you going to repay me, Officer?"

Chen Xu thought for a moment. "...Would you like me to give myself to you?"

The protagonist will resolve the karma from his past life. A dark, suspenseful mystery.
