[Shrewd, clever schemer x Cunning, calculating white-cut-black | Mystery-of-the-week with an overarching plot]
Question: You transmigrate, but end up as a beggar. What do you do?
Mu Mu: Easy. I know how to tell fortunes... Wait, young master from that prestigious family, I'm really not a swindler. I'm actually a detective, and I even have a detective agency.
As luck would have it, she stumbled upon a murder just as people were mistaking her for a con artist. With her wit and intelligence (crossed out) boldness... ahem... and silver tongue, she cleared herself of suspicion and solved the case, earning herself some recognition from the county magistrate.
The young master Zhong Yin was skilled in martial arts. When Mu Mu learned that he had run away from an arranged marriage and had nowhere to go, how could she pass up such a promising recruit? She brought him on board at once, never realizing that he had been after her from the start.
Zhong Yin: “I got a letter from my family.”
Mu Mu: “Are you going back?”
Zhong Yin: “Then... would you be willing to go back with me?”
How could someone as warmhearted as Mu Mu, who had no ulterior motives at all (probably), say no? Besides, she could visit the capital. What was there to lose?
On the road, she solved cases and made money. But while achieving financial freedom, weren't there a few too many assassination attempts?
She was just a beggar who wanted to earn a little money, grow closer to her fake husband (crossed out), and uncover the truth... Hm? What? She was carrying the grudge of a family massacre, and even Zhong Yin, with whom she planned to make their fake marriage real, was living under a false identity?
“It was true that I used you, and it's also true that I fell for you afterward. I only wanted to protect you. I didn't want you getting caught up in this.”
Mu Mu was so angry she laughed (and cried) when she heard that. Protect her, huh?
Much later, after being ignored again and again, Zhong Yin used the excuse of being drunk to pull her into a corner.
Mu Mu looked up coldly. “Lord Zhong, please behave yourself.”
Zhong Yin pulled her into his arms and begged, “I really was wrong. Please don't marry him, okay?”
#I meant to make the act real, but she wouldn't give me the chance#
#You had your chance and blew it, so now you deserve to suffer while chasing your wife#
-------------------- Coming Soon --------------------
[Single-mindedly fulfilling her master's last wish | Career-focused | Airheaded woman x Single-mindedly wanting to lie flat | Hopeless romantic | Cunning man] [One-on-one romance] [Happy Ending]
Jiu He is a sword cultivator from an obscure group, one that isn't even a cultivation sect.
To fulfill her late master's final wish, she resolutely set out on the path of slaying demons, hoping to put her sect's name at the top of the Sacred Realm Rankings.
She thought that as a Golden Core cultivator with a top-grade fire spiritual root, killing demons would be easy. Instead, she couldn't find a single demon and nearly got killed after being mistaken for one herself.
Just as she was at a loss, a cry for help completely “rescued” her.
After killing the demon and saving the man, she planned to go their separate ways, but the man asked her to protect him until they reached the next town.
As they traveled, Jiu He's eyes grew brighter and brighter whenever she killed a demon. When they were about to part ways:
Jiu He: “Would you like to join my sect?”
Qi Yi: “Why? You don't mean to use me as bait to attract demons, do you?”
Jiu He: “Yes.”
Qi Yi: “You're so frank, I can't even bring myself to refuse.”
After setting off once more, Jiu He finally discovered the fun of climbing the rankings with her “tagalong.”
It was just a shame for a certain someone. After finally realizing his feelings one day and planning to confess, he was attacked by a demon. Fortunately, Jiu He showed up in time.
Qi Yi: “Senior Sister, if I wanted to leave this life behind, would you come with me?”
Jiu He: “No, but I'll come find you after I fulfill my master's last wish.”
Much later, when Jiu He finally reached the top of the Sacred Realm Rankings and wanted to celebrate with Qi Yi at her side, she noticed that although he was smiling, sorrow and reluctance had appeared in his eyes.
Qi Yi: “Senior Sister, I may not be able to live in seclusion in the mountains with you.”
Before Jiu He could respond, he kissed her, his lips carrying grief and farewell.
When Jiu He sensed something was wrong and tried to grab Qi Yi, she found that she couldn't touch him at all.
Qi Yi: “Goodbye, Senior Sister.”
Tips:
1. This isn't a traditional story about a man suffering while chasing his wife.
2. The setting is entirely fictional (inspired by the Tang Dynasty). The writing is inexperienced, and everything serves the plot.
3. All the information comes from Baidu. Feel free to point out any mistakes.
4. The little skits in the author's notes are all out of character, so don't confuse them with the main story~
P.S. I'm not very skilled. The token of love is only a concept illustration.
Theme: There is only one truth
Mark it, I'll definitely take a look! Thank you for your hard work, madam 😚
Thank you to heaven, thank you to earth, thank you for your hard work~
The heroine's name is too convoluted, Mu Mu 😂
Will the heroine be wronged if she chases her wife to the crematorium? Will he become frustrated because of the male protagonist? I'm curious to ask because I really want to get into the trap after looking at the copywriting of the detective unit.
I didn't comment on the first chapter, so I took over
Great, we are saved by the unit detective 😍😍😍
