Exorcising Ghosts: We’re Scientists!

When the resentment of a living soul fades, it becomes a spirit. If its resentment does not fade, it can turn into a vengeful spirit.

As technology and industry develop, people grow distant from nature, and souls can no longer harmonize with one another. Strange incidents happen one after another. The government forms scientific research teams to overcome the challenges and works with civilian organizations to eliminate abnormal magnetic fields...

Li Ci is the last surviving heir of the Fengling Guixu lineage. His sect believes in balancing yin and yang, so since he's single, the only thing he can do is see spirits. He's otherwise completely useless.

He goes home for Qingming Festival to burn paper offerings and have a chat.

His grandmother tells him that if he can't find his destined person, she'll turn into a vengeful spirit.

As Li Ci pulls weeds for his grandmother, he grumbles to himself. He hasn't even seen a trace of his destined person's shadow, let alone a single strand of their hair!

To keep his grandmother from becoming a vengeful spirit, he decides to put some effort into finding someone through a weekend blind date.

He takes off his glasses and sees an evil spirit clinging to the woman on the date.

Li Ci: "...Has your neck been sore lately? Is it hard to lift your head?"

The woman looks surprised. "I thought you taught Chinese. Did you study medicine too? Traditional Chinese medicine? That's so cool!"

No, I didn't!

Li Ci is fretting, completely at a loss, when he happens to run into the young man in black whom he's seen twice before.

"Quick, you've got a case!"

The young man in black: "...I didn't bring my equipment."

With no other choice, Li Ci lends him the ancestral bracelet to wear temporarily, but it won't come off.

According to the family rules, does that mean he's Li Ci's destined person? His super-strong heroine!?

Looking at the other man, who's over 185 centimeters tall, dressed in black sportswear, quiet and reserved, and handsome, he politely asks, "Hello. Are you a woman dressed as a man?"

The young man in black: "?"

A fallen heir of the Fengling exorcist lineage x the best operative on a scientific ghost-hunting team.

(Main character is the recipient. I keep revising the blurb, but the premise stays the same: form a team, hunt ghosts, and fall in love. A warm, healing story, not scary.)

Come for two straight men gradually turning each other gay.

Theme: Science, exploration, and the pursuit of truth.
