In 2024,
Miss J died in a plane crash.
When she woke up again, she was bound to a System.
The System ordered her to win over Quan Zhilong, an old-fashioned suitor she'd rejected countless times more than a decade ago.
The System gave her two choices.
The first was to go back eleven years and start winning him over in 2013.
The second was to turn back time by one year and start in 2023.
Either timeline would work. If she succeeded within a year, she could come back to life.
So Miss J chose...
[2013 timeline] (melodramatic and chaotic, morally dubious, fun-seeker alert)
Quan Zhilong (the blind-to-the-truth version): My "fragile" "helpless" white moonlight has returned from abroad.
When an expired white moonlight meets the red rose he's currently flirting with.
Miss J takes on Ms. Suwon.
Quan Zhilong (head-over-heels version): You don't understand. We're in a tragic romance.
Also known as: Miss J's comprehensive dog-training diary.
Another warning: The heroine is genuinely a villain, a polished self-interest type, and will never truly fall for the male lead. Maybe she'll develop some affection by the end, or maybe not. The male lead is a total love-struck fool around her. At first, he keeps getting face-slapped while stubbornly denying it, but after a few chapters he goes crazy for love, shamelessly trying to cling to Miss J.
[2023 timeline] (a middle-aged love story on Jeju Island, healing)
When you're dressed like a homeless person and run into your still-beautiful former white moonlight, who rejected you many times, and she seems to recognize you but pretends not to.
Quan Zhilong (socially mortified version): (Pretends to be aloof and unbothered, while his mind is furiously scrolling through its feed.)
Quan Zhilong (socially mortified version): Wait, why? It's one thing that I never ran into her when I was at the height of my fame, but why do I meet her when I'm physically and mentally exhausted and haven't even dressed up?
Just when you've finally gotten over the embarrassment, the next humiliating encounter is already just around the corner.
You keep finding yourself mortified in front of the same person,
and you've even started looking forward to your next meeting.
Quan Zhilong (resigned version): Whatever. I'll just lie flat and accept it.
Quan Zhilong (pure-love warrior version): The person who made your heart skip a beat at first sight when you were young can still make it skip again after all the years and all the people you've seen.
Miss J makes different choices in the two timelines, so let's treat them as parallel worlds.
But the heroine is still a polished self-interest type. In this timeline, Miss J refuses to be manipulated by the System and has no intention of completing the mission. She can't help it if Mr. G keeps making his presence known around her and wins himself over.
This is a story about two proud people setting aside their prejudices and healing each other.
(The blurb will probably stay like this. I'll start writing again once the other story is finished or I get inspiration for this one.)
Theme: Love yourself before loving someone else
