How to Raise a Little Robot

A cool, restrained doctor weighed down by warmth x a passionate, adorable robot

Jiang Qingyi is a young surgeon at a top medical school, with a spot already reserved for her on next year's promotion list.

But after she is injured while saving someone and loses the use of one leg, all her honors and dreams are shattered overnight.

With no other choice, Jiang Qingyi has to temporarily say goodbye to the operating table she loves and hire a caregiver to look after her daily needs.

The pity in the caregiver's eyes puts her pride through the wringer.

By chance, Jiang Qingyi discovers an ultra-intelligent domestic service robot and gets the idea of replacing her caregiver with one.

She spends all her savings without hesitation to order a lifelike robot.

The robot's service is impeccable. It not only takes care of every aspect of Jiang Qingyi's daily life, but also gives her a warmth she hasn't felt in a long time.

However, the usually meticulous Jiang Qingyi overlooks a tiny note on the order!

That night, the little robot tugs at her sleeve. "Big sister, I want..."

Before it can finish,

"No."

But the little robot refuses to give up, trying to snuggle into her arms. "Come on."

Jiang Qingyi's ears turn faintly red, but she does her best to stay calm. "Don't say things like that again."

The little robot gazes at her with innocent eyes, its voice tinged with playfulness. "But that's how I was designed."

Bewildered, Jiang Qingyi finally spots the note and immediately tries to contact the company about a return.

But the manufacturer's reply is cold and unfeeling: "Once our robots are sold, they cannot be returned or exchanged."

Jiang Qingyi: I'm tired. Let the world end.

The robot seems to sense what Jiang Qingyi is thinking, its eyes brimming with tears.

"You are my one and only owner. Unless my brain is destroyed, I will never leave you."

"So please don't abandon me."

How alike she and the robot are. Neither of them is wanted.

Jiang Qingyi's heart softens. She gently pats the robot's head. "I won't abandon you."
