Gu Jianghai is a 21-year-old college student who's been single his whole life. An orphan, he knows nothing about his parents except their names. One day that year, after finishing a day's work, Gu Jianghai was on his way home when he risked his life to save a little girl who had gotten lost and was about to be hit by a truck. Gu Jianghai thought it would be a shame for such a young girl to die before she understood much about the world or had a chance to experience it. He, on the other hand, had lived for 21 years already, and as an orphan with no parents, he had little to leave behind.

As he lost consciousness, Gu Jianghai heard the little girl crying after he had shoved her out of the way and sent her tumbling to the ground. He also thought of the person who had sponsored him. What a shame, he hadn't even gotten to thank them properly before he was gone, and the money he'd saved would go to waste.
