Mountain Guardian (Title to Be Revised)

The sword of Qixi is the stone that guards the mountain.

"Have you ever met someone?"

The gravely wounded young man lay on his side with his eyes closed, his breath barely more than a whisper. "People in the martial world say there's an immortal with a sword on Mount Qixi. If you pray sincerely and call his name out loud, he'll turn into a gust of wind and appear before you."

His choked sobs carried an unmistakable hatred. It was unclear who he was asking. "I've crossed a thousand mountains and endured every hardship. Why didn't he come save me?"

"Yes, I don't understand either." The heroine held her sword, standing in the fine, threadlike rain. She sighed wistfully. "Why is it that in the legends of this world, only an immortal can ward off disasters and save the sick and suffering?"

·

Many years ago, I was just like everyone else. I climbed mountains, sought immortals, and prayed to the gods, begging the Way of Heaven to take pity on me and grant me a way to live.

But when I finally received that sword, I discovered it was no more than the most ordinary sword in the world.

The gentleman who gave it to me left me with these words:

When there is no path to ask Heaven and Earth for help, I can become Qixi.

Pure wuxia, perhaps with a touch of the supernatural. Setting undecided.

Theme: Life is fleeting, but we should embrace passion that lasts through the ages
