Throat on Fire

Gentle, obedient relic restorer vs. wild, cool-headed rescue team captain

The day Shu Shu went to mix drinks at her family's bar, a high school classmate she hadn't seen in ages came over to flirt with her.

Looking at Jiang Yu, dressed in a daring outfit and nothing like the quiet, well-behaved girl she'd been in high school, Shu Shu kept her expression calm. But the long fingers holding her glass curled slightly without a sound.

The other woman's almond eyes sparkled. She clearly reeked of alcohol, yet her tongue wasn't at all tied. She spoke fluently and frankly.

"Are you looking for some fun?"

"Can I be your entertainment tonight?"

Shu Shu said nothing, but the fact that she stood up gave Jiang Yu her answer.

That night, Jiang Yu thought Shu Shu hadn't recognized her. She boldly touched the sharply angled waist and defined abs she'd coveted since high school.

Little did she know that the woman beneath her had noticed every one of her little moves.

Shu Shu knew exactly what Jiang Yu liked.

The number of waist-baring outfits in Shu Shu's wardrobe grew day by day.

She wore a soft lamb's fleece as a disguise, playing the big bad wolf while letting the little rabbit have her way with her.

Jiang Yu followed the rules, while Shu Shu held herself aloof. The most outrageous thing either of them did was secretly pine for the other.

At Jiang Yu's mother's birthday banquet, Shu Shu looked at Jiang Yu and Lu Yazhe, the pair who seemed made for each other, then coolly turned away.

"I heard Jiang Yu was on TV recently. The students this teacher raised are so impressive. Both siblings are exceptional!"

Shu Shu wondered if she'd heard wrong. Looking displeased, she asked the person beside her, "What did she say? Who's related to whom?"

At another old classmate's wedding, Jiang Yu asked in disbelief, "What did you say? She's not Shu Shu's girlfriend?"
