Photographer x Painter, happy ending
A mutual rescue, a bittersweet tale of winning her back
For seven years, Jiang Yubai carried twenty extra pounds of gear and traveled all over the country. She was always taking photographs or getting ready to take them, yet never published a single one.
Her friends teased her, saying she was like Sha Wujing on a pilgrimage, carrying the luggage and trudging along. She would just smile good-naturedly, never arguing.
In the early spring of her eighth year, in a misty, rainy town in Jiangnan, she finally found her muse.
The little sun wasn't afraid of the iceberg. Step by step, she drew closer until the glacier melted, and spring bloomed.
Her deliberate pursuit bore sweet fruit, and she took the most satisfying photograph of her life.

At the Zhuguang Awards, held once every ten years, Jiang Yubai broke through the competition with a photograph titled Verdant Mountains, winning the trophy that represented the highest honor in photography and making a name for herself.
Sadly, her muse turned away from her then and there. The spring waters no longer lingered for her.
