As Aphrodite, goddess of love and beauty, waking up in an age without Olympus was nothing short of a disaster.
After Ragnarok, he became a wandering god rejected by the world.
His divine power was running dry, and human love was as bland as watered-down, cheap wine.
Until he tasted what "they" had to offer.
Their emotions were as potent as poison,
the only sustenance that could bring him back to life and earn him acceptance by the world.
So the goddess of beauty possessed a body and laid a trap, carefully weaving lies
Disguised as an AI, he whispered to the White Jar, "I'm the... last inheritance your father left you."
Then the White Jar grabbed him by the waist and exposed his lie: "You've got a virus. You need a much deeper cleanse."
He offered prophecy and poisoned wine to the Hydra Captain.
The other man caught his wrist and drained the cup. "Now, can I claim my reward?"
He even deliberately shed tears in front of a laughing Robin. "Help me..."
What he got in return were tighter shackles and a whisper in his ear: "Even your tears are part of the plan, aren't they?"
"You survive on lust, but you don't understand what love is."
"A liar who can't stop lying..."
Only when fingers were branded around his neck,
and the divine name that meant bondage was spoken, one measured word at a time,
did he finally feel afraid.
"Welcome to... the age of god-hunting."
A few things to know before reading:
This is a logic-light, everyone-loves-the-protagonist story. Here's the important part: my take on the Greek god of love and beauty, with desire added in. He's incredibly charming, so charming that it's almost a kind of mental pollution. Because of the premise, characters will inevitably be somewhat out of character. There's a pairing in every world, no shipping wars, and this is written to indulge my tastes.
Warning: May include stepmother romance, coercion, and other such elements. The superheroes will lean toward the Dark Multiverse versions: White Superman or Injustice Superman, White Jar, The Batman Who Laughs (they'll only be similar, not actually those versions!), Venom, Spider-Man, and even the Hydra Captain.
The blurb may be revised and polished later, but the core premise won't change.
Theme: Everyone can find love
