Love Affairs in Changling

When Ning Shuang first met Li Sinian, she thought he was the same kind of person as her.

She had no idea that, to her, he was a star in the heavens. If he didn't make his way toward her, she would never reach him in her whole life.

The gulf between their social positions made her avoid him time and again. He helped her over and over, and no matter how slow she was, she could still understand his feelings.

But she had suffered because of class differences and been hurt by love. She never dared to take a single step forward.

That night, he leaned close to her ear and smiled wickedly. "How are you going to thank me?"

Her voice trembled. "I have nothing to offer..."

He pulled her into his arms and kissed her passionately. "I want you!"

They turned the city of Changling upside down.

She was afraid.

Every time she tried to back away, he caught her and brought her back.

Until she watched him kill someone with her own eyes.

When the whole city was cursing and denouncing him, she had a knife held to her throat, yet she still refused to say a single word to slander him.

His mother, a woman of exalted status, came to find her. "As long as you're in Changling, he'll never have a chance to rise!"

She left.

As if she had never been to Changling, she vanished without a trace.

They met again three years later.

She accepted her family's arrangement for an alliance marriage and went to meet her fiancé.

Before she could finish a cup of tea, someone pulled her up and drew her into his arms. "So you want to get married?"

"There's such a thing as first come, first served, isn't there? You have to marry me first!"

"In this life, the next life, and every life after that, you can only marry me!"

Tears streamed down her face.

He lowered his head and kissed them away, one by one, grinning roguishly. "Come on. Let's go consummate the marriage."

That night, the moon set over Changling, and love filled the sky!
