Qi Yue had loved Zhang Wei for ten years, ever since their freshman year of college.

When they were eighteen, before Zhang Wei's differentiation, they were classmates and more or less friends. Back then, Qi Yue didn't think she liked Zhang Wei all that much.

At eighteen, Zhang Wei differentiated into a high-grade alpha and joined the military. He was admitted to the country's foremost military academy, and gradually became someone Qi Yue could only look up to.

Qi Yue confessed to Zhang Wei when she was twenty-four.

The first time, Zhang Wei turned her down gently.

The second time, they deleted each other.

From the age of twenty-six to twenty-eight, Qi Yue kept sending Zhang Wei friend requests, shamelessly debasing herself, while Zhang Wei never replied to a single one.

When Qi Yue was twenty-eight, the world came to an end. Cthulhu invaded Earth, and Zhang Wei returned with his troops to the town where Qi Yue lived, protecting the area and keeping its people safe.

Zhang Wei acted as though nothing had happened, treating Qi Yue with polite distance.

Later, one time when she was drunk, Qi Yue begged Zhang Wei through her tears, "Loving you hurts so much. Could you give me a little sweetness?" Zhang Wei looked at her, calmly pinned her to the bed, and kissed her fiercely, marking her completely, as if offering her pity and a little sweetness.

Zhang Wei said, "Let's give it a try."

But Qi Yue knew Zhang Wei didn't love her.

Later, in a rare occurrence, Qi Yue became pregnant despite being a beta. Afraid Zhang Wei wouldn't accept it, she ran away while pregnant, planning to secretly give birth and raise the child on her own.
